HOME MEAL SERVICE, INC.

Home Delivered Meal program in Wayne County, New York

Mission Statement: Home Meal Service is a private, non-profit agency whose purpose is to assist with the nutritional and social needs of Wayne County residents.  Our goal is to allow for earlier hospital discharges and assist Wayne County residents to maintain wellness.

About our Services
AMERICA, LET’S DO LUNCH™

Today, the average life expectancy is at a record high of 79 years. As we get older, even the most independent among us may experience physical declines or financial hardship that strips away our independence. Add to that an increase in geographic mobility of our families, and the result is millions of seniors left behind, hungry and alone.  With the senior population projected to double by 2050, Home Meal Service is joining the effort to help inspire a new army of volunteers in Wayne County to meet the growing need.

Do you have 1-2 hours per month to spare?  We are in need for volunteers to deliver meals in many areas of Wayne County. Deliveries are made between 11:00 - 1:00. It's easy and rewarding to help seniors in need. Please call 315-332-8844 to speak with us about this great opportunity to give back to your community!

WELCOME TO HOME MEAL SERVICE, Inc.

Welcome to Home Meal Service, Inc. We deliver home delivered meals. Our purpose is to deliver hot meals to home bound persons living within the county.  Home Meal Service has been delivering the nutritional needs of home bound residents in our community since 1973.

Home Meal Service assists with better health through nutrition. Often mealtime becomes a challenge for individuals who are recuperating from an illness or who are too ill or frail to prepare a meal.  Home Meal Service provides the valuable nutrition needed to help.  Primarily we serve elderly (age 60 or over) individuals who have no support at their homes on a consistent basis. Generally, they are physically unable to shop and/or prepare meals due to  illness or disability, mentally incapable of providing for their own nutritional needs (such as being confused or forgetful), live alone or with a family member who is unable to prepare or provide nutritionally adequate meals.

Our program is also available to persons under age 60 who are physically handicapped or terminally ill, although the number of these participants is limited due to funding. It is best to call our office and talk with our staff for eligibility.
